Hey, I'm Alex
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in New York, United States.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to United States wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began to establish something that felt secure.
Why I Created Warm Oak Studio
Most information online tended to be corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Alex
